Shay Scott (MBA, MS Industrial Engineering, BS Civil Engineering) is a Lecturer in the Department of Marketing and Logistics at The University of Tennessee.  Prior to joining the faculty he was Senior Manager of International Logistics at Dell where he had responsibility for product moving from Dell’s US production facilities to points throughout the world.  While at Dell he held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility including a leadership position with Dell’s DSi2 project featured in publications such as the Wall Street Journal and Businessweek.  

Scott holds a US patent for innovative logistics processes developed as a part of this project. Scott completed a year of postgraduate study in Logistics and International Business at the University of Tennessee building upon his professional experience.  While there, he was a contributing author to the Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management handbook (Sage 2006).  He has consulted with firms in the high tech, transportation, international logistics, and chemical industries.  He has studied, worked, and traveled to 33 countries on five continents.  Scott is also Associate Pastor of Administration at Sevier Heights Baptist Church in Knoxville.
