Marketing and Logistics Ph.D. Programs

The Department of Marketing and Logistics offers two Ph.D. program concentrations, one in Logistics and one in Marketing. The Department is dedicated to offering excellent training for Ph.D. students with all courses offered on an annual basis and students immersed in research activity with faculty the moment they enter their respective program.

With the addition of 2 new students annually per program, each program is purposely kept small to facilitate close interaction with our faculty and fellow students. The atmosphere is truly one of cooperation and collaboration. Faculty and doctoral students frequently work in research teams, conduct on-going research and develop dissertations using corporations as real world laboratories. The result is an exciting training program for those interested in an academic career. Because these two complementary programs are located in the same department, students have the option of designing a curriculum that includes elements of both programs; one can serve as a minor area or they can be studied equally as a dual concentration. Students also have the option of combining their concentration area (logistics or marketing) with a collateral located outside the department or even outside the college (e.g., logistics concentration with a management science collateral; marketing concentration with a psychology collateral), or may even construct a hybrid collateral area (e.g., logistics concentration with a mixed collateral in operations management/industrial engineering; marketing concentration with a mixed collateral in advertising/psychology).

Aiming your sights at becoming an academic is to target yourself toward a wonderful career, one that is consistently filled with discovery and learning. Moreover, the ability to convey one's knowledge through teaching, writing, and service, offers immense personal and professional satisfaction.
