Joe is a Ph.D. student in Marketing at the University of Tennessee. His main area of concentration within marketing is strategy, with a focus on international business and entrepreneurship. His minor is in Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
Joe was born and raised in Aschbach, Germany, a small village in the state of Saarland. He holds a Masters in Engineering Management from Duke University, a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas – Pan American and is a licensed industrial electrician in Germany.
For the past 2.5 years prior to starting his Ph.D. Joe worked as an electrical design engineer for Barrett, Woodyard and Associates, a consulting engineering firm based in Atlanta, GA. In the summer of 2004 he was a project-management intern for Wilkinson Real Estate Advisors, and in the summer of 2002 for Volkswagen Electronic Research. He chose the alternative to the obligatory military service in Germany, and worked for one year in a youth hostel in the Bavarian Mountains, where he enjoyed hiking and skiing.
