Jon Kirchoff is a PhD student in the Marketing and Logistics Department at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. His major in the program is logistics and his planned minor is international business. Jon received his B.A. in economics and his M.S. in economics, with an emphasis on developing economies, both from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT. He earned his M.B.A. from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.
Jon came to Tennessee from Denver, Colorado, where he spent the last 6 years working for Echostar Technologies Corporation as a Senior Commodity Manager. Prior to that, he worked in purchasing and logistics for Mercedes-Benz, U.S. International in Stuttgart, Germany and Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as a Direct Buyer Specialist and Project Co-Leader. He also worked for OEA, Inc. in Aurora, Colorado as a Senior Buyer.
Jon’s research interests are in global supply chain design, international transportation efficiency, outsourcing/offshoring and its effects on supply chain strategy, and green supply chain design.
